- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 2 scoops protein powder vanilla (1/2 cup)
- 1/4 cup egg whites
- 1 cup apple sauce
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Optional Topping
- 1/4 cup Stevia
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray the donut pan with low-cal cooking spray. I use a silicone donut pan that I got on Amazon, but you can also use a muffin tin.
- Mix ingredients in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Fill the donut pan evenly and bake for 15 minutes.
- Let cool and roll donut in Stevia and cinnamon for sugar finish *optional.
These donuts can be kept in the pantry for 4-5 days if they last that long! In my house, they disappear pretty quick! I have made them before and put them in ziplocks to freeze. They do great in the freezer and thaw out relatively fast!
I use gluten-free flour because I have Celiac, but using regular flour works great. Do not substitute oat, almond, coconut or other flours as they will change the texture of the donut and they will not rise.
